Here are comments taken from my 4Q visitor surveys during the past 6 months, regarding how annoying these visitors find the immediate appearance of 4Q’s visitor survey. An exit popover would be a much better way of doing this, and here’s proof.
(An exit popover is a window that appears when someone clicks ‘close (x)’ or back or otherwise leaves the site. It marks the exit of a visitor from your site.)
15.02.2010 I wasn’t able to read the post because the survey popped up before I had a chance..
07.03.2010 Because the Survey Pops up as soon as I arrived at the website. How can I give you my honest opinion of the site before I have even looked at it? Have you considered a popunder?
13.03.2010 popup for survey initiated immediately upon site entry – all questions relate to experience on site and intent – it would be better to time this as an exit pop…
31.03.2010 I got this request to take your survey before! I had reached your site – just an FYI for you –
08.04.2010 ANSWERED QUESTIONS FIRST [SIC]
19.05.2010 questionnaire fired at the wrong time at the start of the visit
And these kinds of responses have been there ever since I first implemented this years ago. Come on iPerceptions – do what the people are asking for!
