Also, I dunno what bubbles look like in economic terms so I can't answer that. I do think that those prices are overvalued.

The domainer community buys its own hype a lot, often fueled by stuff like that. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if those sales were at least partly funded (or bid up) by shills.

Also, it's pretty hypocritical that most "hacked" domains, as those are called, won't get you much cash but here the 'me' extension is going crazy.

There are some folks who'd like to get a nice dating domain name ... and they can get a premium generic ccTLD that will actually boost their search rankings for less than 70K (about 100K Canadian now). Heck, date.net should not cost more than 70K.

Do you think the .me domains were overvalued at auction?

Date.me sold for $70,000 during T.R.A.F.F.I.C. New York. Love.me 32K, Ask.me 20K etc. Seriously? I thought about going on a buying binge with the .me extensions when they became publicly available, but I honestly thought no one would want them. Wow, was that a mistake. I can't believe people bought into the hype.

Do you think the .me buying frenzy was the classic formulation of a bubble?

Thanks David!

Travel just about only makes sense for tourism boards and countries. And they can easily fit under the org and net extensions. ICANN greediness imho.

Great video Gab. I'll be watching out for more of the same. Regarding the subject, agree that a lot of these domain exotic domain extensions aren't really worth investing in unless the extension works well with the extension e.g. county.travel etc.
