Facebook Learns From AdSense

It’s a fairly well know tip amongst AdSense users that you want to integrate your ads appearance as closely as possible with the content. You want to give users visual cues to help visitors skim over the advertising disclosure.

Additionally, if you place pictures next to the ads as if they are related – e.g. like the pictures are bullets in a list – you boost your CTR.

It looks like Facebook is testing both of those strategies with its recent addition of thumbnails-and-content above the right-hand side advertising.
