Nice article! I run a dofollow blog, so it gave me a nice source for others who do the same. Also for free press release sites I found the prlog.org got the most click through but prleap.com was free and gave the strongest links (very few linked pages on that actual article). Cheers!

Yeah, it seems they've figured out a way to fold the supplemental index back into the regular one without compromising on computer resources. At least, that's what I understood from their post.

We're completely in agreement on getting the deeplinks, and I wanted to thankyou for sharing your tips back then.

Great article, Gab! Thanks for the mention and the links.

I also read about the (supposed) demise of the supplemental index, but I still think it's important to get links to product pages and other deeper pages in an e-commerce site. Here are some reasons:

1. Links to product pages may bring targeted traffic; people who wouldn't have visited your homepage or blog might be interested in a specific item if it meets their need;

2. Getting links to 2nd- or 3rd-tier pages insures that they will be crawled and indexed by all the search engines;

3. Since these are links that you control, you can choose anchor text for the link that helps you rank better for long tail searches;

4. The more links you have to your site overall, the better, right?

Thanks for the great ideas!
